Dr Diogo Teles

Diogo Teles MD PhD, is a Doctoral-level bioengineer with more than 7 years’ experience in the development of organs-on-chip, 3D human bioengineered tissues with induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC), and machine learning algorithms capable of improving preclinical drug development and early detection diagnostics.
He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Laboratory for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering at Columbia University, with a focus on preclinical models of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of anticancer drugs. His work has been published, presented at conferences, highlighted in journal covers, and submitted for patent protection.
Additionally, Diogo is a Fellow at Columbia Technology Ventures where he has developed expertise in tech transfer, particularly in assessing the potential patent protection and commercial viability of new technologies, analyzing market size and competitive landscape, drafting early-stage technology briefs and marketing campaigns, and identifying potential entrepreneurial partnerships.

Diogo has a PhD obtained from a collaborative program between University of Minho and Columbia University, and an MD from University of Minho.
